Serum albumin and C-reactive protein/albumin ratio in community-acquired pneumonia

چکیده

Introduction: Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is a common type of respiratory tract infections with high morbidity and mortality. Prognostic role CRP/Albumin ratio in CAP patients still unknown. The aim this study was to investigate the CRP/albumin predicting 30-day mortality ICU requirement hospitalized CAP.
Material Method: included CAP.Clinical records plain radiographic images were retrieved from hospital database reviewed for each patient.
Results: 179 who included. CRP level found have no significant effect on (p=0.728, p=0.232, p=0.110, respectively), whereas low albumin associated (p

Study of Serum Albumin Level in Community Acquired Pneumonia

INTRODUCTION AND AIM: Patients who are admitted to hospital with pneumonia are at risk of subsequent recurrent pneumonia and death even after discharge. This risk may be even higher in patients, who have a low serum albumin level on admission. This study was conducted to determine serum albumin level in patients with CAP as compared to healthy individuals and to observe the correlation of serum...

Blood urea nitrogen to serum albumin ratio independently predicts mortality and severity of community-acquired pneumonia

BACKGROUND Early studies of community-acquired pneumonia showed that nonsurvivors had higher blood urea nitrogen levels and lower serum albumin levels than survivors. Therefore, elevation of the blood urea nitrogen to serum albumin (B/A) ratio may identify patients with community-acquired pneumonia who are becoming critically ill. This study investigated the correlation between commonly used la...

comparison of serum levels of procalcitonin and c-reactive protein in patients with community acquired pneumonia and copd exacerbation

conclusions we found statistical differences in pct levels that would differentiate cap from acute exacerbation of copd in the ed setting. further studies are required to verify this finding. methods this cross-sectional prospective descriptive study was performed in the emergency department (ed) on patients with cap and acute exacerbation of copd. a total of 53 patients were included in this s...

C-reactive protein in the diagnosis of community-acquired pneumonia.

Qualitative determination of C-reactive protein (CRP) was evaluated as a diagnostic method for community-acquired pneumonia. Paired serum and pleural fluid samples from child patients were examined with a CRP test, compared to bacterial cultures, counterimmunoelectrophoresis and immunoassay. The CRP test gave excellent parameters of sensitivity, specificity and predictive values for the diagnos...

C-reactive protein levels in community-acquired pneumonia.

The diagnostic value of C-reactive protein (CRP) admission serum levels as an indicator of the aetiology of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) was evaluated. A cohort of 1,222 patients with CAP was assessed. CRP levels were analysed in 258 patients with a single aetiological diagnosis. The mean CRP values in patients with pyogenic, atypical, viral and Legionella pneumophila pneumonia were: 16 m...
